OUR STORY

Askar Morisseau
Founder & CEO
Ankorz Up was founded on a core belief: young people deserve access to financial literacy and real-life skills that help them build stable, independent futures.

What started as a vision to create safe, empowering spaces for youth grew from a deeper need we kept seeing. Too many young people were navigating life without guidance in money management, credit, saving, and long-term financial planning. We knew something had to change.

Through early conversations and grassroots efforts, Ankorz Up began creating spaces where financial education feels practical, relevant, and accessible. Our approach goes beyond traditional teaching. We create high-quality, engaging, and practical experiences focused on real-life application so participants can confidently use what they learn in their everyday lives.

Today, through initiatives like the Passport to Financial Freedom, performance learning workshops, and the Webster Bank Finance Lab in partnership with the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club and Webster Bank, we equip youth and young adults with the tools to make informed financial decisions and take ownership of their future.
But this is just the beginning.
We are working to build a generation that feels confident in how they earn, manage, and grow their money and we invite you to be part of that journey.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Askar Morisseau is a first-generation Haitian who moved to the United States at seven years old. Growing up, she witnessed how little financial education was available and saw her parents struggle financially. As she grew into adulthood, experiencing layoffs, building her own business, and becoming independent, she realized she hadn’t been taught the financial skills, tools, or knowledge needed to succeed. She yearned for financial freedom but struggled with an unhealthy relationship with money.

Determined to change her path, Askar invested in her own financial education, accessed local community resources, and developed a financial plan that worked for her life. The journey wasn’t easy, but each step brought her closer to stability, confidence, and a healthier relationship with money.
This experience made her realize how many others face similar challenges. While everyone’s journey is unique, many people struggle with money in ways that have long-term impacts on their lives and decisions. Through her personal and professional experiences, she also saw that entrepreneurs often struggle financially, not from lack of effort, but from a weak financial foundation, leading to business instability and failure within the first few years.
Askar recognized that while entrepreneurship is important, the foundation is financial literacy. By starting with practical financial education, young people can develop the knowledge, skills, and mindset to make empowered decisions and build a strong foundation for future success.
That’s why she founded Ankorz Up to provide youth with financial education, tools, resources, and opportunities to set themselves up for a brighter future, break cycles of poverty, and approach adulthood with confidence and hope.
